"The Play That Goes Wrong" is a comedic play about a drama society attempting to stage a murder mystery called "The Murder at Haversham Manor". However, due to a series of mishaps, everything that can go wrong, does. The play follows the accident-prone thespians of The Cornley Drama Society as they battle against props falling apart, forgotten lines, and other technical difficulties, all while trying to keep the plot afloat. The audience witnesses a chaotic and hilarious attempt to reach the final curtain call.

Across three days, fans will have the opportunity to meet John, hear behind-the-scenes stories from Outlander, and take part in a variety of interactive experiences inspired by Scottish culture and the world of the Frasers. Class begins promptly at 10am and ends at 4pm.
We provide each student with either a skinned, cleaned, and tanned racoon, opossum, or rat hide depending on the workshop you are taking.
The first half of class is focused on preparing your form, setting the eyes, test fitting and mounting the hide, as well as grooming.
After our first 30-minute break class shifts towards plaque preparation and mounting your project.

The AM class will begin promptly at 10am and last 2.5 hours.
You will learn the foundational skills of bug pinning, including safe collection methods, proper handling, and the step-by-step process of pinning and mounting your specimen.

June Millington and her sister Jean have been playing music since they were children strumming ukuleles in the Philippines. When they moved to the US in the ’60’s they turned in their acoustic guitars for electric and formed a succession of all-girl bands that eventually became Fanny, one of the first all-female rock bands to be signed to a major label. Fanny soon began recording and touring worldwide with bands like Chicago and Dr. John. It was while recording in major studios with engineers like Apple’s Geoff Emerick that Millington began to study the art of sound recording and producing.
After Fanny, June became involved in the women’s music movement when she was asked to play on and tour behind Cris Williamson’s The Changer and the Changed, which would become the defining album of that genre.  “Women’s music” quickly evolved into an independent feminist music network that included (often collectively run) production companies, venues, festivals, record labels, and distribution networks.  It was in that genre that Millington began to produce albums for, among others, Williamson, singer-songwriter Holly Near and jazz pianist and composer Mary Watkins.
June and Jean continued to record and perform throughout the 80’s and 90’s – with Jean taking time off to raise her two children and June, together with her partner Ann Hackler, founding the Institute for the Musical Arts (IMA). The Institute is a teaching, performing and recording facility dedicated to supporting women and girls in music and music–related business. Millington is the Artistic Director of IMA, which, as part of its mission, runs summer rock programs for girls and young women.

Andrew Collins Trio – Album Release Live in the Green Sanderson Hall at Hugh's Room, 296 Broadview AvenuePresented with Support from Ontario CreatesShow at 8pm, Doors at 7pm$35+ in advance, $42+at the door“Mando Maestro” Andrew Collins finds himself at the epicentre of Canada’s acoustic/roots music scene. He didn’t invent it, but he has certainly been a major contributor, having co-founded seriously noteworthy Canadian bands like the Creaking Tree String Quartet, the Foggy Hogtown Boys and, more recently, his namesake trio. That’s not to mention the fact that this prolific and powerful performer – comfortable on mandolin, fiddle, guitar, mandola and mandocello – composes, produces, arranges, writes and teaches across multiple genres, including an electrifying fusion of folk, acoustic roots, newgrass and even a dash of chamber music, when he’s in the mood.
Collins and his various ensembles have already been recognized by five JUNO nominations and seven Canadian Folk Music Awards.  Now he’s concentrating on the work he does with his Trio-mates:  fellow string guru Adam Shier, whose versatility shines through on guitar and mandolin and James McEleney providing support on the bass, mandocello and vocals.Showcasing a dizzying number of styles and instruments on stage, Collins and his trio appear to live by the old adage: “idle hands are the devil’s workshop” (likely keeping them way ahead of his grasp). Bending and blending genres, these musical shape shifters land somewhere between the re-imagined worlds of Béla Fleck, newgrass inventer David Grisman and the legendary cellist Yo Yo Ma!
The Trio recently released their aptly titled album, The Rule of Three, drawing inspiration from the artistic principle that a trio of elements is more impactful, intricately weaving together visual and literary arts’ “rule of thirds”. The album was nominated for (aptly) three Canadian Folk Music Awards!Here at Hugh’s Room they’re releasing Retro, a treasure trove of Andrew’s signature tracks over the years with fresh arrangements and spirited trio interplay. From blazing bluegrass to jazzy waltzes and classical reinterpretations, Retro shows that great music evolves through honouring its roots. Friday, April 10.

Creating and recording a musical background with found sounds and our bodies (hands, mouths, feet!) as well as a poetry / spoken word / abstract word pieces, the workshop is both a collaborative process and an introduction to recording and sound creation. The workshop is open to all, regardless of previous experience (or no experience at all!) and each participant takes home an mp3 of the collective work created.
LAL has been performing and recording for over 20 years and has been conducting sound workshops all over the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). They provide workshops that utilize anti-oppression and feminist practices. Respect being key in how they work with community.

The performance of Kainchee Lagaa & Jhooti on Saturday April 4 (7:30PM) is intended to create an affinity space and opportunity for South Asian audiences to see the show in community.
“It is my intention for this night to place South Asian audiences at the centre of this storytelling, to offer a space for the culturally-specific complexities and nuances of the plays to be felt together.” - Zaiba Baig
“South Asian” is used strategically and expansively: there is no way to adequately represent all the complexities of having identities connected to “South Asia,” which can include diasporic, Nepali, NRI, Tamil, Indo-Caribbean, Oriya-speaking, brown, Tibetan, Fijian, Maldivian, mixed-race, Pakistani, and more. We intentionally disrupt the exclusion of Black “south asian” folks, Dalit folks and others in this invitation and welcome communities who may see themselves reflected in this show's content as it relates to their cultural context.This definition is inspired and modelled from anu radha verma’s language from brOWN//out 
 
Content WarningKainchee Lagaa and Jhooti are recommended for audiences over the age of sixteen. Both plays contain sexual themes and simulated sex acts, intense descriptions of violence, and coarse language. 
 
About House of Beida House of Beida was created by Zaiba Baig in 2020 to support trans-led artistic projects and mentorship initiatives for trans creatives. Through House of Beida, Baig works on projects for screen and stage that champion nuance and complexity in trans narratives, as well as advocating to prioritize the needs of trans people of colour in artistic environments.

Some meetings feel inevitable. Others feel like fate tapping you on the shoulder. On Saturday April 4, Hugh’s Room Live hosts the first-ever full concert collaboration between two of Canada’s most formidable jazz exports: pianist Robi Botos and vocalist Adam James.
It’s not a pairing. It’s a detonation.
The origin story? A Toronto salon in 2025 — the kind of room where reputations are checked at the door and only the music matters. Jaymz Bee, impresario and instigator, leaned into his old friend Robi and said: “I know you rarely play with singers, but this guy, Adam James — he’s the real deal.” They did one song. Just one. And suddenly the air changed. What followed was less rehearsal than revelation — an immediate mutual admiration society, two masters recognizing the voltage in the other.
