      About the McMaster Thespian Company:    
  The McMaster Thespian Company is a non-profit theatre organization specializing in developing and performing classical plays in new ways. Past shows include (but are not limited to) scripts and pieces from the classical Grecian, Elizabethan, and Victorian eras. MTC provides opportunities for students interested in performing, technical theatre, and production, and creates an inclusive forum for artists and technicians to develop and showcase their skills and talents. In the process, we cultivate theatrical performances that touch on a variety of social issues, bring theatre's origins and earliest pieces to life, and highlight the importance of live theatre at McMaster and in our surrounding community. The 2024-2025 school year marks MTC's 20th season.   
   Our company is composed of actors, crew members, and production team members that come from different faculties and backgrounds. Among our members, we encourage artistic and technical development within the diverse areas of theatre and provide an environment where our company members can explore classical theatre outside of academic study.

This is our 26TH year! Join us for a fun filled adventure through our giant corn! Follow a Map that leads to checkpoints. Solve clues. Find them all and come get a prize. If you get out...
Expect the Maze to take between 1-2 hours to complete depending on your age, experience, weather, and day or night.
Maze runs rain or shine so dress for the weather. Wear proper footwear. The paths in the Maze can accommodate strollers but this may be difficult directly after or during rain. 
5:00 is the last time you are able to enter the maze Sunday through Thursday. 
6:00 is the last time you are able to enter the maze Friday and Saturdays.

For the ninth consecutive year, If You Ask Me (IYAM) has supported emerging filmmakers with lived mental health and/or addiction experiences to create new short films. This year’s program features shorts by filmmakers from across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). These new films were developed from July – September 2025 under the guidance of Robin Riad, along with IYAM alumnus Esteban Powell serving as mentor. Equipment rentals and facilities were generously provided by our community sponsor and partner, LIFT.

He has received two grants from the National Fund for Culture and the Arts and is a Berlinale Talents alumnus. Semillas is a dual-screen documentary portrait of three “1.5” generation Latine individuals (Veronica, Francisca and Josue). Through their voices, likenesses, memories, and interlaced experiences Semillas explores their stages of transplantation: ‘uprooting,’ ‘transplant shock’ and ‘seed dispersal.’ Interrogating how the ‘soil’ of home permeates one’s evolving sense of home and Latine identity.
Directors biosFrancisca Rojas (she/they) "I am a second generation Chilean-Canadian documentary filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. My work centers on the depictions of collective historical traumas within my community through an autoethnographic and testimonial lens. It is a therapeutic outlet that allows me to unravel my inner turmoil that is intrinsically linked to my family’s intergenerational trauma. Hence, by linking the personal with the collective my work aims to portray decentralised community-based healing that collectivizes and politicises mental health struggles." 
Ruben Dario Chavez-Munoz (he/him) is a first generation Latinx/Canadian artist working primarily in the visual arts. Based in Toronto, his work focuses on the ways in which we leave marks and interact with the environments around us.
Esteban Powell (he/him) is a Mexican-Canadian multimedia artist and educator. Through the mediums of writing, painting, and filmmaking, he focuses on Neo-Gothic genres of expression to communicate spiritual and psychological struggles. Only through delving into our darkest depths, can we better understand ourselves, heal, and help others be seen.

Denis Côté's documentary Paul finds its eponymous protagonist figuring out how to take control of his life. Weighing 300 lbs and struggling with depression and social anxiety, the film chronicles Paul's unconventional path towards turning his life around. Paul finds solace in taking on the role of a "simp" (a man who excessively dotes on someone who doesn't reciprocate their affection). He spends his days on his hands and knees cleaning the homes of various dominatrices before going home and sharing his experiences with his burgeoning social media audience.
Côté crafts one of the year's most unconventional explorations of healing, self-improvement, and human connection. Paul emerges as a sweet and inspiring portrait of someone having the bravery to defy social norms in the pursuit of self-fulfillment. With shades of Wim Wenders' modest masterpiece Perfect Days, Paul suggests mindful commitment to repetitive tasks can strengthen resilience while bringing meaning and satisfaction to everyday life.

Director bio:  Born in 1973 in New Brunswick, Denis Côté has produced and directed films since 1995. His first feature film, Les États Nordiques (2005), received the Golden Leopard Video Award at the Locarno International Film Festival. Vic+Flo ont vu un notre won the Silver Bear for Innovation at the Berlinale in 2013. Hygiène sociale won the Best Director award in the Encounters section at the Berlinale in 2021. In 2024, he received the Albert Tessier Prize, Québec's highest filmmaking distinction, in recognition of his body of work.

Canadian Bandurist Capella

The Canadian Bandurist Capella (CBC) is one of the premier bandura ensembles in North America. Founded in 2001, the group showcases powerful male voices combined with the rich sound of the bandura, the national instrument of Ukraine. The Capella is committed to advancing and exploring new possibilities with choral bandura music while honouring the instrument’s deep history. Through dynamic musical arrangements and performances, the Canadian Bandurist Capella delivers a unique listening experience that raises the profile of the bandura and Ukrainian song in the Ukrainian Canadian community and beyond.
 
Vira Zelinska Bandura Capella "Zoloti Struny" 

Bandura Capella "Zoloti Struny" ("Golden Strings") is a Ukrainian youth ensemble composed of young musicians dedicated to playing the bandura, Ukraine's national musical instrument. The group has been in existence since the summer of 2001. The Capella consists of 26 members from the Greater Toronto Area. The organization is under the auspices of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Mississauga. Honoured Performing Artist of Ukraine, Vira Zelinska, an acknowledged teacher and performer from Ukraine, was the founder and first director of the group. Her daughter, Oksana Zelinska-Shevchuk, took over the role of musical director and teacher at Zoloti Struny in 2012.Throughout 2001-2025, Zoloti Struny members have participated in the Kiwanis Music Festival of Greater Toronto, as well as in the annual Ukrainian Music Festival, in solo/duet/trio bandura categories, winning places and receiving numerous scholarships. Zoloti Struny participate in major events within the Ukrainian community, such as the Toronto Ukrainian Bloor West Village Festival and the Charitable Marathon "Children of Canada – to Children of Ukraine!" Christmas concerts have become an annual tradition now and are a real treat for audiences. Since 2001, Zoloti Struny has recorded and released three CDs, produced a DVD movie about their summer camps, and presented a number of virtual video projects. In addition to practicing and performing throughout the year, students also have the opportunity to further hone their musical skills through studies at the annual "Litnia Zustrich" Bandura Summer Camp in Hawkestone, ON.Active participants at all events within the Ukrainian community of Toronto and Mississauga, Vira Zelinska Bandura Capella "Zoloti Struny" will continue to expand in the pursuit of musical excellence, ensuring the continuation of Ukrainian musical culture.
 
St. Demetrius Bandura Ensemble

The St. Demetrius Bandura Ensemble is comprised of students and alumni of the St. Demetrius Bandura School. The Bandura School was founded in 1983, and has been providing weekly instruction on bandura technique, theory, style and performance for over 40 years to students of all ages. Based at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Demetrius in Etobicoke, Ontario, the St. Demetrius Bandura Ensemble performs regularly at local church concerts as well as functions in the Toronto area, including the Toronto Ukrainian Festival. The ensemble takes pride in demonstrating the versatility of the bandura, performing pieces from a variety of genres, including traditional Ukrainian, liturgical, classical, and popular music. The St. Demetrius Bandura School and Ensemble are directed by Ron Demeda, assisted by William Kowalenko.
 
Kobzari

Kobzari are a Toronto-based group of young boys who specialize in playing traditional repertoire on traditional 20-stringed banduras led by Merited Artist of Ukraine, Victor Mishalow.
 
Women's Bandura Ensemble of North America - Toronto Region

The Women’s Bandura Ensemble is a twenty-member bandura and vocal group, driven by their passion for the bandura and the Ukrainian musical tradition, maintaining important cultural motifs while expanding the instrument's horizons. The WBE is composed of women from seven cities in North America, including Toronto, New York, and Chicago. The mission of the Women’s Bandura Ensemble is to bring together talented, female bandurists in order to showcase the instrument, maintain musical traditions and foster new creative directions and artistry.
 
Paul Yuzyk Academy of Toronto - Bandura Ensemble

The Paul Yuzyk Academy of Toronto, which opened in September 2022, was created to serve the need for a high-quality Ukrainian Canadian academic program that sees student engagement as an integral part of its success. Our vision is to prioritize the student in the learning process and delight as we educate so that the transfer of heritage becomes natural, enduring, and self-replicating. Successful heritage transfer keeps our culture and our community strong.The Bandura Ensemble at the Pavlo Yuzyk Academy of Toronto was founded in 2022. It brings together 5th and 6th-grade students, for whom playing the bandura is a compulsory subject, as well as teachers from the Academy. The Ensemble has become a highlight of school celebrations and concerts for the Ukrainian community. The Ensemble’s repertoire includes folk and contemporary Ukrainian songs that inspire listeners. Currently, the Ensemble is led by the talented bandurist and teacher Olena Gavrylyuk.
